Can Expanding Learning Time Benefit Students?
Can additional learning time help the nation's under-performing schools meet the demands and challenges of the 21st century? An increasing number of education researchers, analysts and lawmakers believe so. With the growth of globalization, some lawmakers—according to the report, "Choosing More Time for Students"—think that the expansion of learning time will be the next major push in school reform.
The study will define what expanded learning time means, highlight what model programs look like when used effectively, and address how to successfully implement such reform efforts. As will become clear, expanded learning time is all about using time in ways that greatly benefit our students.
