NSSEA Essentials, the official flagship publication of the National
School Supply and Equipment Association, welcomes your articles for
possible submission in our bi-monthly magazine. Below you will find
specific guidelines to properly submit articles, to help you formulate
story ideas and to increase your chances of getting your article
published.
Objective
NSSEA Essentials is geared to suppliers, dealers, and service providers
in the school supply industry. Our readers range from a small
parent-teacher store in the Midwest, a large furniture distributor
in New England, to a educational materials publisher in the South.
We accept articles on topics such as: educational trends, business
development, customer service, legislative actions, store design,
management.
Manuscript Guidelines
The article review process should begin with a query by mail, email,
fax, or phone followed by a brief abstract or outline. Please
state your topic and objective, and indicate your perspective
as well as your professional relationship to the topic. Content
must be unbiased and cannot promote a particular product or company.
Allow three weeks for a response to your query.
Article length may range from 500 to 3000 words. All manuscripts
must be submitted electronically via email or disk. Submit as text
(.txt), or MS Word (.doc) files. Please make sure all disks are
labeled. Media will not be returned.
If your article is supported by a graph,
chart or image, please provide a caption and source reference.
Submit graphics files in .TIF, .JPG, or .EPS format. Do not imbed
images into the document (word or txt). Graphics files should
be sent via email or on removable media. Identify all images
and indicate file names and formats on the disk. (Example: “WHOLESALE.EPS”)
Do not send unlabeled disks.
Although we are unable to pay contributors, all authors of NSSEA
Essentials will have their bios published at the bottom of the
article with contact information and a head shot.
